Children - Diving with South East Asia

The aim of Dive South East Asia is to offer a safe and supervised learning environment for children to experience the thrills and excitement of the underwater world.

Our highly trained PADI instructional staff here at Dive South East Asia is skilled in teaching young people. Our staff is aware that children need more recognition, reassurance and positive reinforcement than adults, to remain focused and motivated. The instructorís use personnel commitment and a lot of energy by being supportive and nurturing in creating a non-threatening environment, conducive to learning and most of all fun.

We all know that there are 10 year olds, who do not qualify for dive training, and will not until they mature physically, emotionally and cognitively. Our instructors are aware of these factors and are able through various instructional techniques break a complex concept or task into more simple segments; so that children under their instruction can grasp it. The instructors also review dive-sites and special equipment needs ensuring a safe and fun filled experience.

At Dive South East Asia, our instructors are asked about medical issues regarding their children and scuba diving. Under PADI Standards and Dive South East Asia standards, children are pre-screened for dive fitness under parental supervision with a specific medical screen, and are required to be evaluated by a physician should anything on the screening form be answered in the affirmation.

The worldwide PADI organization and Dive South East Asia, ensure that our instructors abide by a ìCode of Conductî when supervising children, in that health, safety and welfare of children is paramount and will never be comprised. This is why, parents trust Dive south East Asia, knowing that we here take precautions ensuring their children enrolled in any of our many scuba and skin diving courses, that the ìCode of Conductî will never be compromised!

SUMMARY OF CHILDREN SCUBA DIVING PROGRAMS

SASSY-5 Years of age and older
May participate in the Supplied Air Snorkeling for Youth (SASSY) experience, allowing the children, to breathe from a regulator at the surface while wearing a flotation device. This is a swimming pool only experience.

BUBBLEMAKER-8 Years of age or older
May participate in the Bubblemaker experience in a swimming pool only environment, to experience blowing their first bubbles underwater. The maximum depth of this experience is 2 meters/6 feet.

SEAL TEAM-8 Years of age or older
The Seal Team program is an exciting experience filled introduction to the world of diving. This experience is conducted completely in a swimming pool. A special part of the Seal Team membership, is that they have access to a special website designed for them. www.padisealteam.com
